Jun 27, 2022

When you’re mentoring people one-on-one, you have to have an upfront understanding with them. An agreement about the rules of the game. All of this is positioned and laid out for someone you are mentoring during your recruiting and your ‘getting started right’ process. You’re going to want them to know that you’re the mentor. You’re the one who is going to be telling them and showing them what to do. I also want them to know right away that I’m not going anywhere, that they can depend on me. I also want to know from them that they’re not going anywhere, that I can depend on them, that they’re going to show up, that their word is good, that they’re going to do what they say they’re going to do, because I’m not going to babysit them.
